Mobius (Prime Meridian)
2011
In the oculus of the apparatus are two vertical lines made of spider threads. Astronomers would mark the exact angle + time that a star traversed the lines in the oculus to determine that location of the earth. The apparatus is mounted on the prime meridian and used to determine the start of the universal day. I take great solace in knowing that the accuracy of our known time and place is contingent upon spider threads.
